Noroxin (norfloxacin) is prescribed for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria. This drug is intended for patients diagnosed with certain sexually transmitted diseases (chlamydia, gonorrhea), as well as prostatitis, cystitis, and a number of others. It's important that you take the entire amount of the drug prescribed by your doctor, otherwise the infection may not be treated completely and a relapse is likely to occur. Take Noroxin at regular intervals trying not to miss doses. If you happen to miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If you soon need to take the next dose just skip the one you missed and carry on with the regular dosing schedule.
Noroxin is not intended for patients younger than 12 and must not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. It can cause serious birth defects and pass into breast milk affecting the growth and development of a nursing infant. Headache, nausea, weakness and abdominal cramps are those few effects you may experience during the treatment. If you develop an allergic reaction to Noroxin or some new bothersome symptoms appear, contact your doctor immediately to prevent the situation from getting worse.
